Brenda’s Bio

Brenda C. Small, a REALTOR® from Washington, D.C. has served the national, state, and local associations in many leadership roles on REALTOR® issues since 2004. This includes testifying before Congressional, state, and local legislatures and serving as a Member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), District of Columbia Association of REALTORS® (DCAR), and Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS® (GCAAR).    

Other significant leadership roles include serving as the 2020 NAR Chair, Public Policy Coordinating Committee, 2017 NAR Committee Liaison for Federal and Public Issues, 2015 NAR Regional Vice President for Region 3, comprised of Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia, 2010 DCAR President, and 2007 Local President, GCAAR. In each of these roles, she was influential in promoting legislation and public policies that effectively address REALTOR® interests.

Brenda is an Associate Broker with Keller Williams Capital Properties DC, with 30 years’ experience in residential real estate sales and management. She advanced from a 1999 Rookie of the Year award recipient to NAR 2011 DC REALTOR® of the Year. Brenda is a Graduate of the REALTOR® Institute earning the distinguished GRI designation. 

Brenda is a well-respected leader for her devotion to service, member outreach to engage new volunteer leadership, and compassion, commitment, and care for REALTORS® personal development. Brenda is a consistent financial investor and supporter in the REALTOR Political Action Committee advocacy for realtor grass-root issues.

She is authoring her first book, a personal-development guide and is emphatic about equipping and empowering entrepreneurs for business success. Proud to call the New Jersey Shore area home, Brenda is a Cum Laude graduate of Monmouth University. She continues her love for travel after living and working ten years in Germany with the U.S. Armed Forces. She has two daughters, Angela and Tiffany and resides in Washington, DC.
